Just as it did with Windows 8, Microsoft is giving IT professionals an opportunity to try out Windows 8.1 before giving up $120, or $200 for the 8.1 Pro version. The Windows 8.1 Enterprise evaluation is available in 32 and 64-bit ISO versions and is available for download here.  The evaluation must be activated before October 31, 2014.  Keep in mind, this evaluation is intended for IT professionals wanting to try out Windows 8.1 Enterprise on behalf of an organization and should not be installed on your main working system.

For current Windows 8 users, you can download 8.1 by simply hitting the Windows Key to get to the Start screen and select the Store tile.  The Windows Store is the only way for consumers (non-enterprise, non-IT Pro) to download and install Windows 8.1.
