According to a recent "leaked" video, Microsoft is revamping the mobile operating system of their  Windows Phone to more closely integrate with the upcoming Windows 8 release. The update will include a "wallet experience" via

NFC (wireless mobile payment technology), heavy Skype (recently acquired by Microsoft) integration, beefed-up security similar to desktop PC level, and expanded hardware options. A new feature named DataSmart will improve Wi-Fi connections by using Bing Maps to find hotspots and join carriers to owned ones. Enhancements to IE10's mobile version is proposed to reduce website data consumption by up to 30%. Microsoft is also saying goodbye to the Zune name and saying hello to ActiveSync and their cloud service SkyDrive will manage wireless syncing across devices. Thanks to our friends at Mashable for the scoop!  Stay tuned for updates.
